Queen Elizabeth has one of the most extensive jewelry collections in England, but she still believes in attractive basics for her style. She has been passing on her style to the family, just as previous royalty has done to her. Queen Elizabeth wears a pair of pearl and diamond earrings she inherited from Queen Mary, which Queen Mary first received as a wedding gift in 1893. Here, she is seen wearing her pearl and diamond earrings along with her triple strand pearl necklace. Her brooch originally belonged to Queen Victoria, and dates back to the 19th century. Pearls are a staple in her jewelry ensemble, and she is never seen without her pearls at daytime events.
According to The Adventurine, Meghan Markle wore pearls to her first official solo outing, gifted to her by Queen Elizabeth. Markle's pair was strikingly similar to the monarch's--just smaller. The diamond and pearl earrings aligned perfectly with Markle's polished style and custom Givenchy dress.
Kate wore the same pearls as Markle when she gave birth to Prince Louis. The pearls signified the commemoration to the royal family and England on the day Prince Louis entered the world. The pearls are strikingly similar to Queen Mary’s Button Earrings (shown below), which are natural pearls that precede the introduction of cultured pearls. Unique Gemstone
Pearls are the most unique of gemstones because they are not created in the depths of the earth; they are from oysters in the sea. They don't require any polishing or cutting to enhance their natural beauty, which has been cherished for thousands of years. Pearls are the most popular birthstone of June, followed by Moonstones and Alexandrite.
Differences in Origin
Pearls are found in three varieties: saltwater, freshwater, and cultured. There are three major types of saltwater pearls: Akoya, Tahitian and South Sea. These pearls appear to have similar characteristics, but can vary in size, shape, and color because each pearl is created in a different species of oyster. Saltwater pearls are typically round and white or cream-colored, which indicate they are of Akoya variety. The South Sea variety are typically the largest in size and are cream-colored. Tahitian pearls are grown in several French Polynesian islands, and referred to as black pearls, but can emerge gray, blue, purple, or green.
Freshwater pearls are grown in lakes, rivers, and ponds. They resemble the Saltwater Akoya variety because of their white color and size, but can develop in an array of pastel colors.
Cultured pearls are grown in Pearl farms where technicians raise oysters to grow pearls, harvest the gem, then safely release the oysters back into the water. In the process of cultivating pearls, over 10,000 pearls may be examined before a group of beautifully matched pearls can be assembled into a 16” necklace.
Pearls in the Past
The Pearl was considered by Greco-Roman civilizations as a favorite gem of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. Many Asian cultures believed the Pearl was a product of a rain god. Persians believed the sun's influence helped create Pearls. Each of these cultures regarded the Pearl as a divine and beloved gem that originated in nature. Pearls were presented as gifts to Chinese royalty dating back to 2300 B.C. In ancient Rome, pearls were considered a symbol of high status. Atlantic-coastal and Mississippi River Native Americans were the first to harvest and use pearls. Pendants, earrings, and decorative clothing pieces made with pearls were worn by men and women. Pearls were also used in Native American culture as tributes. Powhattan, Pocahontas' father, had received many pearls as tributes.

Meghan Markle's Sparkling Diamond Engagement Ring -Diamonds From Princess Diana
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced their engagement. I am sure everyone is wondering about the appearance of the ring.
Harry designed the Cleave and Company ring. The diamond engagement ring is a three stone ring. The center stone is a unique cushion diamond and 2 round stones on each side on a gold band. The three stone diamond ring are heartfelt and majestic as one would assume. Harry chose the center stone from Botswana where the love struck couple spent time together and the other two round stones are from Princess Diana's personal collection. Jane Fonda's Colossal 2.5M Dollar Diamond and Emerald Backward Necklace at the Emmys
Jane Fonda at Sunday’s Emmy Awards. Making a statement wearing $2.5 million in jewels. She sported a colossal diamond-and-emerald earrings, and a glittering necklace snaking down her back.
Jane Fonda’s jewelry was created by Italian designer, Massimo Gimondi. It took 600 hours and 10 artisans to make. The pieces were completed just in time for the Emmys.
